The MSC Practice Group

The group consists of practitioners who have successfully trained in MSC. They meet 2 x a month on the 2ndand 4th Thursday of every month from 6 – 7.30pm. The MSC material is a summary of the entire MSC course.

Each evening is facilitated by the more experienced MSC practitioners. The evening begins with a core meditation, a sharing of how our practice is going and a poem. After a short tea break or journaling space there is a short teaching with journaling and sharing about that practice.

We end with another meditation.

About Claire Breen

I am an educational psychologist who began private practice in 1990 and use mindfulness and compassion in my psychotherapy practice. Chris Germer, Kristin Neff, Steve Hickman and Michelle Becker trained me as an MSC teacher. The 8 month MSC course, Community for Deepening Practice, was followed by certification with Steve Hickman through the MBPTI of UCSD to be a certified MSC teacher.  I facilitate regular MSC 8 week courses for mental health professionals, the general public, corporates, and parents groups.

In addition at Bangor University, UK I trained as a Specialist Teacher in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.

Compassion and meditation have always played a very significant role in my life. For many decades I have enjoyed meditating and teaching meditation to clients.

I enjoy being in Nature, stillness, silence, simplicity, spaciousness and lightness.
